Beware fake transport and works cheques

Ministry denies having account at Mandeville bank

THE Ministry of Transport and Works is warning members of the public to be on the lookout for persons who are tendering cheques allegedly drawn by the ministry.

The cheques are being drawn on a National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited Mandeville Account.

In a release to the media, the ministry denied having an account at this branch and urged the public to be vigilant in their daily transactions.

Any further attempt to present or encash such cheques should be reported to the police immediately, the release said.
