Thursday, July 08, 2010

KINGSTON Mayor Desmond McKenzie met today with Kingston and St Andrew Corporation officials to discuss reports that a number of bones were found by workers in the May Pen Cemetery.

More than a dozen bones were found in the area by workers during several days of clean up.

Concerns have been raised by the workers that the find could result in health problems.

This afternoon, Assistant Commissioner Les Green said he's also to meet with McKenzie regarding the find.

He said the meeting was to discuss the next step and also to carry out further discussion to find out if the remains were brought there or are from broken graves.
