Candice Thompson is LASCO/NAJ nurse of the year

CANDICE Nicole Thompson was crowned 2010-2011 Nurse of the Year at the Lasco/NAJ Nurse of the Year Awards held this morning at the Wyndham Kingston Hotel.

The Nurses Assoication of Jamaica had six finalists this year, of whom Thompson emerged victorious. She walked away with a $130,000 cash prize from Lasco Distributors Limited.

Lavern Campbell, the 1st runner-up winner received a $80,000 cash award. While Jillian Mason-Cleary, 2nd runner-up got a $50,000 cash prize. The other nurses in the top six were Claudine Douglas, Shamara Bowland and Jenniffer Scott.

Yanique Cummings copped the 2010-2011 Student Nurse of the Year Award. She received a $20,000 cash prize from Lasco and other prizes from corporate sponsors.
