MIXTAPES have become an effective form of promotion for entertainers. Deejay Adventerous says he has benefited from the medium.
His latest project, Overload is his sixth mixtape. It is led by the song Eyes Open which is produced by Bonner Cornerstone Productions.
"The message of the song is basically to let people know that they have to make themselves aware of what is happening around them and identify the real people and separate them from those who are fake," Adventerous told this column.
He produced and released four mixtapes prior to the 24-track Overload but this is his first with record company, Revolutionary Entertainment.
According to Revolutionary Entertainment CEO Dennis Livingston — nephew of reggae icon Bunny Wailer — the label hopes to go places with their new signing.
"Adventerous is a very good talent and that's what we are all about at Revolutionary, working with good talent," he said.
The company has worked with singers Cen'c Love (Bunny Wailer's daughter), Andrew Tosh and Junior X.
