SECURITY Minister Dwight Nelson has condemned last night's killing of a special corporal in Portmore, St Catherine.

Gunmen attacked Corporal Garfield Anderson as he was about to climb off his bicycle and shot him dead. The incident happened about 8.30.

In a release to the media Nelson said there are elements in society bent on challenging and even bringing down the constituted authorities of the state.

"Criminal elements have refused to heed the warnings in their bid to reclaim lost ground in the fight against crime," he said.

He also extended his condolences to Anderson relatives, friends and colleagues.
