POLICE are keeping a steady presence in Rocky Point in southern Clarendon as gunmen ran amok in the usually rustic fishing village.

Gunmen early Monday morning shot and killed a man residents identified as 'Chucky', before they set fire to the Flex Nightclub and Bar, also located in the area.

Police said the incidents may have been a reprisal for an earlier attack.

The incidents have driven fear in residents, especially a fisher woman, who says she plans to send her children elsewhere.

"I don't into the foolishness cause I stay in most times. Is just my children I am afraid for and I plan to send them way," the shaken woman  said.

At least two police units were observed patrolling the area, regarded by the police as Clarendon's most active hotspot.
