GAYLE, St. Mary – Investigators in St. Mary are now probing the circumstances surrounding the murder of a vendor, just outside the Tacky High school in Gayle, this morning.
The dead man has been identified as 38-year-old Lawrence Housen of Gayle in the parish.
Investigators said no motive has been established for the killing and they have so far ruled out robbery as nothing was reportedly taken from the scene.
The police said Housen died from a single bullet wound to the head.
According to reports, shortly after 7 o’ clock this morning, Housen was inside his small shop located across from the school gate when he was approached by a man.
Police said the man pulled a gun and opened fire killing Housen on the spot.
The gunman reportedly escaped in a waiting motor car.
