Trainer Robert Darby Snr continues to rekindle the days of old with a one-two finish in Saturday's second race.
The veteran conditioner watched as his 9-1 chance Moneyneversleep, with Dane
Dawkins in the saddle, made one move to win the second race over eight and a half furlongs (1,700m), beating another Darby inmate, Counter Attack, ridden by Oneil Beckford, and more favoured in the betting at 3/1.
Based on Darby's reactions while in the winners' enclosure, it was obvious that he was a very happy man as he paraded both Moneyneversleep and Counter
Attack for the photo opportunity as he revelled in the winning moment.
Darby really made his name as a trainer during the early days of the claiming
system in the mid-1990s, but health issues over the last seven years have curtailed a more active involvement in recent times.
