Solange Sinclair is Miss Jamaica World 2017

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Solange Sinclair, a crowd favourite from the outset, was crowned Miss Jamaica World 2017 during the pageant's grand coronation on Saturday night at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston.

Sinclair beat 17 other finalists to take the crown. She will represent Jamaica at the Miss World finals in China scheduled for November.

The top ten finalists were:

Kadejah Anderson

Brianne St Juste

Leah Hollingsworth

Amaya Lewis

Jeneque Pinnock

Diedre McKenzie

Solange Sinclair

Megan McNaughton

Sasha Henry

Melissa Douglas

Making the top 5 were:

Solange Sinclair

Jeneque Pinnock

Sasha Henry

Diedre' Mckenzie

Brianne St Juste

The fast-track competition winners were:

Diedre McKenzie, Ms Melia Braco — beauty with a purpose

Sasha Henry, Ms Maxie Department Store — top model

Alyssa Boothe, Ms Dolphin Cove — talent

Sukanya Wilmot, Ms 876 Blue Mountain Spring Water — fitness

Megan McNaughton, Ms Eyeland Eyewear — beach beauty

Sectional prizes went to:

Jeneque Pinnock — most aware

Solange Sinclair — most congenial

Brianne St Juste — people's choice award

Finishing in second place was Diedre McKenzie, while another crowd favourite Jeneque Pinnock placed third.

Nesbeth and Romain Virgo were among the night's entertainment.
