THE victory by eight-yearold gelding Aldebaran last Saturday must have brought some relief to trainer Errol Pottinger, as the veteran conditioner has been struggling in recent times to locate the winners' enclosure.

The win by Aldebaran enabled Pottinger to notch his second winner for the season from 25 starts.

Ridden by Wesley Henry, Aldebaran made one move to win by one-and-a-half lengths over Miny Lee (Sadiki Blake) and Double Deal (Oneil Beckford) going a mile (1,600m).

The winning time was 1:45.2.

“The plan was to make all the running, and that was what we did. We went in front, got a comfortable lead, slipped away from the field at the half-mile, and by the time I was expecting the others to come we had enough for the win,” Henry said.
