PETER McMaster's consistent American-bred filly Choo Choo Blue goes in search of win number three from five starts this season among Open Allowance company in the fourth running of the Saint Cecelia Cup feature at Caymanas Park today.

The event, one of two trophy races on the 10-race card, will go over six-and-a-half furlongs (1,300m) for a purse of $1.15 million.

A knotty-looking event, a field of nine runners is declared and is expected to go to post about 5:00 pm, with the first post at 12:45 pm.

The Knutsford Park Cup, a Restricted Allowance event for native-bred three-year-old non-winners of two, will go over six furlongs (1,200m) for a purse of $900,000 and has attracted a field of 13 runners.

However, most attention will be directed on the day's feature where Choo Choo Blue is expected to face strong opposition from Gary Glitter, Another Bullet, Dwayne Star, Crucial Appeal, and Lottery Ticket, all of whom will get the distance with the minimum of fuss and have been primed for the speed duel.

The in-form apprentice Anthony Thomas will take over on Choo Choo Blue from the leading, while champion rider Omar Walker will climb aboard Lottery Ticket for the champion and leading trainer Wayne DaCosta.

Meanwhile, Robert Halledeen will climb aboard Gary Glitter for trainer Dalton Sirjue, Dick Cardenas will ride Another Bullet for trainer Patrick Lynch, as will Paul Francis on Dwayne Star also for Lynch.

While any number can play, Choo Choo Blue will have to be caught and the horse most likely to turn the tables on the American filly could be Gary Glitter.

Like Choo Choo Blue, Gary Glitter is a consistent performer, but his top weight impost of 57.0 kg (126 lb) may just mitigate against his attempt for top honours, in spite of that good effort in his last race going six furlongs when running on strongly, which makes him a potent danger going one-half furlong (100m) farther today.

Dwayne Star, the mount of Francis, looks certain to close for his piece of the action with Walker aboard Lottery Ticket.

In the Knutsford Park Cup, Winter Is Coming, Malachi and Sandori should battle for top honours.
