Insecurity is a mind-bender. What it basically does is channel to your brain the idea that you are not good enough, and this may lead to you seeking life altering means of changing the real you.

But self-acceptance is the first step to happiness, and to accept yourself, you first have to learn to smash those insecurities.

Here are three ways to do just that:

Affirm yourself

Look in the mirror and speak beautiful things to yourself every morning. Start your day by telling yourself how much you are worth and how great you look. It may sound crazy at first, but after a few days it will feel so good that it becomes natural.

Don't do comparisons

Do a mental detox every day. Do not compare yourself to others, because you do not know their journey.

Choose friends wisely

Keep company with those who complement your uniqueness and beauty. Avoid people who love to complain about their bodies or their lives, and love the skin you are in. Take excellent care of your body and mind and live appreciating you every day.
