A police constable who was implicated in a corruption charge was offered $300,000 bail when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish on Wednesday.

Theodore Blake was charged with his colleague Shemoy Brooks with breaches of the Anti-Corruption Act, 2000 following accusations that they solicited $8,000 from a motorist for the return of his motor vehicle documents last month.

Blake, who had remained in custody after Brooks was granted bail, was offered bail following a successful bail application by his attorneys Able-Don Foote and Don Foote.

When the matter was called up, Blake's attorneys argued that no solicitation took place and he vehemently denied the allegations.

He was offered bail with one or two sureties on condition that he is to report to the Old Harbour Police Station every Monday and Friday.

He is to return to court on October 4, 2018.
