Love is simple, relationships are challenging, and things will head downhill if the necessary work isn't put in. But if you're currently in a tight spot, what's important is being responsible and deciding to really fix things.

Be open to change

It is not to change who you are but to change how you think and how you approach relationship issues. We tend to be defensive in intimate relationships when reality is if you change how you think about your relationship, you will encounter less drama and more resolution.

We tend to hear but not listen to what our partners are really saying to us, and we build walls around us to prevent hearing the truth because we want to see things our way. You have to listen and not just passively listen, but intentionally listen so you can do your part to making things better.

Love is not a feeling; it is something you get up every day and decide to do. Love is not selfish; it is a decision that is shaped around feelings and that shouldn't be directed by feelings.

Relax and be patient

Once you hasten the building of a relationship, you are already destroying it. Learn to let time fix all things because time will. Enjoy the present moment; enjoy your partner within this moment with what is existing.
