Although failing to find the winner's enclosure in his last six starts, the Anthony Nunes-trained Dontae should now come into his own and easily brush aside rivals in the $1-million Kenneth Mattis Memorial Trophy feature at Caymanas Park today.

Dontae (Fearless Vision - Eighteen Karat) has been doing very well campaigning against much better horses than these, and so against this small field of seven runners it is going to take something special to deny him.

In his last two races Dontae finished in second positions behind Superluminal (going 10 furlongs) and Hilly's Halo (going seven furlongs), respectively, a group of horses which would probably dismantle this field.

There is no doubt that Dontae is very much comfortable and at home over this distance of 10 furlongs (2,000m), and it is going to be very hard to deny his connections lifting this trophy.

Simply put, Dontae is better than his rivals at this Overnight Allowance level.

Wartime had been struggling to some extent and now, finding her form, has a winning chance.

Tarantino from the same stable as Wartime has not hit the board in quite a long while, and doing so today will be extremely difficult for this bay gelding.

The same can be said for Francia's Pride. Dontae's stable companion Bruce Wayne has been doing pretty well in Overnight Allowance for some time now.

He is very consistent and always seems to be finishing strongly in all his races, thereby giving the impression that he might like it long.

Bruce Wayne should chase his stable companion home. Supertronics from the barn of Wayne DaCosta, and Biblical Legend from the Gary Subratie stables should complete the frame.

The race is positioned as the fifth event on the programme with a start time of 2:35 pm. First post is at 12:10 pm.
