ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Residents of the Above Rocks community in St Catherine have allegedly threatened to damage Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) buses in retaliation over a fatal crash in the community last evening.

Reports are that bout 9:50 pm, a JUTC bus was travelling towards Above Rocks when a motor bike travelling in the opposition direction veered into its path, causing a collision.

It is reported that the injured motorcyclist was being transported to hospital when the vehicle in which he was travelling also crashed.

“The management of the bus company is expressing condolences to the family of the deceased, however, it must be noted that any threat of violence confirmed by the police, will result in the bus company pulling its service from the route to protect state property and life,” JUTC said.

The matter is being investigated by the police.
