Staff at Bunker Security & Protection Limited on Collins Green Avenue in St Andrew say they have received a fortnight's pay, after threatening to walk off the job last Friday due to non-payment of salaries.

The money was reportedly paid over on Saturday following a Jamaica Observer story which reported that staff would not return to work until they were paid a month's salary owed to them.

“All is not well but wi glad wi get part of the money,” a staff member informed the Observer.

“Most people are back and wi just waiting on the rest of money now,” the employee added.

The Observer had reported that the company was having issues paying the salaries amid rumours that a leading security firm had acquired ownership.
Approximately 50 workers had been affected by the delay in payments and several threatened protest action if there was further delay with the disbursement.
