Heelz N Wheelz for Ash Wednesday

Friday, February 08, 2013
HEELZ N Wheelz, the annual automotive showcase, is set for a new venue and promises to be bigger and better.
"This year's event will be at the National Stadium's parking lot on Ash Wednesday," said Andrew Lee-Sing, event conceptualiser.
Now in its sixth year, the event outgrew its previous home at the Urban Development Corporation in New Kingston, St Andrew.
"I started the show to appeal to average persons who are interested in cars, and the event just got bigger each year," Lee-sing told Auto.
With the larger venue, the organiser said he will bring some larger units to the event.
"First time ever in Kingston, we're bringing modified trailers to the event."
The island's top car crews are scheduled to go head-to-head for bragging rights and trophies. There will also be a 'Best of Show' award for the top ride.
According to the organiser, 38 trophies are up for grab as well as spot prizes from several of the major sponsors like Digicel and Tyre Warehouse
"Persons who buy pre-sold tickets will have the chance to win a Samsung Galaxy Y phone from Digicel," Lee-Sing said.
The new venue means more secure parking, better safety, and options outside of just looking at the cars.
"There's a kids' zone, and we have partnered with UIM Records to have live entertainment with guest DJs and singers."
Besides the trucks, his unrevealed second secret showstopper, Lee-sing promises one more unique surprise.
"Heelz and Wheelz had the first Porsche Panamera in the island, and we have another big exclusive this year," he said.
