JAGUAR XF, Car of the Decade
Friday, October 26, 2012
THE Jaguar XF, another of ATL Automotive's star-studded line-up, was recently awarded Car of the Decade by the Southern Group of Motoring Writers (SGMW). The award adds to its collection of more than 100 accolades.
The SGMW is made up of 30 motoring journalists, editors and authors.
Brian Stevenson, managing director at ATL Automotive, said the company is pleased
to have a vehicle on its range cop such a prestigious award.
"The Jaguar XF has been a turning point for the premium luxury brand since the acquisition by Tata Motors. It is an exciting time for the brand as the company unleashes a whole new model range with energy-efficient engines that are low in fuel emissions and high in power and torque," he said.
Stevenson said he anticipates a flurry of awards for the brands distributed by ATL Automotive.
"We have the most exciting and driven brands in the world. All our brands are on target to lead the world in their various segments," he added.
Sue Baker, SGMW chairman, said: "The Jaguar XF has a style, grace and driving calibre that impressed our members enough to make it our outstanding choice as Car of the Decade as we celebrate the group's 10th anniversary. With its proud heritage, voluptuously sculpted design, engineering precision, and wow-factor cabin, the XF is a worthy winner of this notable award."
Jeremy Hicks, managing director, Jaguar Land Rover UK, said: "The XF has seen real success since its launch in 2008, and to receive this award from the Southern Group of Motoring Writers, in which the most significant cars of the past 10 years have been considered, is another fantastic accolade. Over 52,000 XF models have been sold in the UK and the awards tally has risen to over 100 globally."
One of the principal developments of the XF has been the introduction of new powertrains which has seen improvements to fuel efficiency and emissions performance and opened up new market opportunities. The XF 2.2-litre diesel for instance, boasts highly competitive CO2 emissions, starting from just 135 g/km and economy of 55.4 mpg.
The Jaguar XF is available at ATL Automotive at a starting prices of $9.6m and $9.9m for the petrol and diesel models, respectively.
