Molynes race track
Dear SSP Allen:
There are some undisciplined taxi and coaster drivers who ply the Molynes Road route from Half-Way-Tree; I’m not sure of their destination.
During the peak hours, when my husband and I are travelling to and from work, they use the road like a ‘race track’, forcing their vehicles in and out of the already congested traffic, sometimes causing fear for motorists and pedestrians.
I am asking you and your professional team to lend an ear to the plight that affects us daily on Molynes Road during the peak hours. Your presence as traffic police is greatly needed to instill some discipline into these wayward drivers.
Many times motorists are forced out of their lanes, pedestrians have to scamper from the sidewalks in order to save themselves; and surprisingly, most times these robot taxis and coaster buses are transporting passengers.
There are decent, lawabiding citizens who use that roadway, SSP. I know you are a busy man, but for our sake please do your best to address this grave situation.
Judith Bragg-Harvey
Dear Mrs Bragg-Harvey:
I have read and noted your concern.
We have assigned a traffic team to focus on that zone, especially during the peak hours.
In addition, there are some other initiatives we are embarking on to see how best we can treat with that level of indiscipline by those transport operators.
However, in an effort to assist the police, we continue to remind the commuting public as to the crucial role they play towards a positive attitude by some of these PUBLIC PASSENGER DRIVERS BY NOT TRAVELLING IN THEIR UNITS OR BY POINTING OUT THE WRONG BEHAVIOUR WHEN IT IS OBSERVED.
Rest assured, however, that the JCF will not relent in our efforts towards PUBLIC SAFETY, CONFIDENCE AND TRUST.
Let’s continue to work together to rid the streets of these hoodlums. SSP Calvin Allen
