Need For Speed opens with bang
LAST Friday's opening of Need For Speed at Carib 5 in Cross Roads, St Andrew, was complemented by a well-received automotive display put on by King Midas Mufflers.
"It was good, we had a moderate crowd," said Paul Cole, managing director of King Midas Mufflers.
Movie patrons, along with invited guests, had the opportunity to get a close look at several vehicles on show, including a 2013 Ford Mustang similar to the hero vehicle used in the film.
"Everyone loved the Mustang," said Cole.
Also a big hit was the cake designed like an exhaust system to highlight King Midas Mufflers' new product line Exhaust Solutions. The video game system running one of the many Need For Speed titles was constantly in action as well.
Cole told Auto that King Midas Mufflers would be raffling a Playstation 4 at their booth at Vernamfield on March 30.
"You can enter by picking up a free entry stub at the event," explained Cole.
King Midas has been putting on these events since the first instalment of Fast & Furious in 2001.
Need For Speed, produced by DreamWorks Pictures, stars Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul. The plot follows the fresh-from-prison street racer, who was framed by a wealthy business associate, and who joins a cross-country race with revenge in mind. His ex-partner, learning of the plan, places a massive bounty on his head as the race begins.
