Rally clash on Sunday

Rory Daley

Friday, June 22, 2012

THE second round of the Jamaican National Rally Championship — the Raynor King Memorial Rally — will see stiff competition this Sunday at the Lydford Mines in St Ann. For Daryl King the event, named in honour of his deceased father takes on a special meaning and will be a family affair.

"I will be trying to win overall," he told Auto. However, King was clear that his hopes might not materialise for two important reasons, the lack of his recently enhanced gearbox, and the unknown amount of turbo-charged four-wheel drive cars that might be in attendance. "I broke the dog box in testing and had to return to the stock gear box."

Richard Rerrie, who has not seen action since last December, will be present in his Subaru Impreza STi.
