Two injured in accident involving police vehicle

A taxi operator and a woman, said to be his spouse, were last night admitted to hospital after they were injured in a motor vehicle crash involving a police vehicle in Rockfort, Kingston.

Details about the crash were not available last night, but people on the accident scene claimed that the police were chasing two men on a motorcycle when their vehicle crash into the taxi which was on the side of the road.

Police officers on the scene declined to comment on the incident.

However, a police source told the Jamaica Observer that a motorcyclist and his pillion rider had committed a robbery in the East Kingston area and were being chased by the police who responded quickly after being alerted.
