ATL Autobahn, the ATL Automotive division responsible for the BMW and MINI marques, expanded its offerings when it unveiled the 2019 BMW X6 xDrive50i at a private event in its ritzy Lady Musgrave Road showroom in St Andrew, on Fri day, February 1.

“This is the fastest non-M car that money can buy in the X6 line-up,” Sloane Jackson, head of business at ATL Autobahn, told the Jamaica Observer's Auto magazine.

The new BMW X6 xDrive50i has a significant engine upgrade from a three-litre Inline 6 to a 4.4-litre TwinPower turbocharged V8 that puts out 450bhp. This allows the vehicle to hit 100km/h in 4.8 seconds on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h. All this power makes its way to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. However, the new engine isn't the only thing about the X6 xDrive50i.

“The model we sell is very unique in its set-up, in that it is a limited-edition version called the M Sport edition. This is different than just the M Sport, as you get more features standard in the car. It also allows you to get things that weren't available before,” Jackson explained.

On top of the regular M Sport exterior and interior niceties, there are two standard colours, Mineral White and Long Beach Blue. Carbon Black, an M exclusive colour, can also be had. M specific 21-inch wheels are also amongst the previously optional items available on the X6 xDrive50i.

Tech is plentiful on the X6 xDrive50i with front and rear parking sensors combined with a 360 degree camera which allows the BMW to park itself using the Park Assist function.

“This is the third generation of Park Assist, where you do nothing at all except hold down the button,” Jackson noted.

The interior gets the M Sport treatment, as well with carbonfibre trim throughout the cabin. Otherwise, the X6 retains all the luxury, technology, and sportiness across the other three models: the xDrive35i, xDrive30d, and the X6M.
