Drivers Rallysport Club (DRC) awards ceremony, originally scheduled for this Sunday, has been pushed back to January 28 at the True-Juice Orchards, Bybrook, Bog Walk, St Catherine.

“We made the date move to give our club members more time to make themselves available for the event,” Marcia Dawes, vice-president of DRC, told the Jamaica Observer's weekly Auto magazine.

The DRC Awards ceremony will serve several purposes, including celebrating the achievements of its participating members and crowning the various series champs and class champion over the 2017 season.

The club's annual general meeting will also be held ahead of the main ceremony to choose the club's leadership for 2018. The venue itself is an idyllic riverside spot and supports the more social aspects of the club via a cooler lyme.

“It's a cooler lyme family fun day setting,” explained Dawes.

She divulged that the club's event calendar has been set with dates, but not yet venues.

“We should have that down by the awards ceremony and announce them there,” she said.

The DRC season kicks off with the first round of their rallysprint series on March 11.
