Epican — Kingston's first legal ganja dispensary — launched to the public on Saturday from its address at Market Place, at the old Fiction nightclub location.

Three doctors were on hand to ensure that customers could get their recommendation before buying the drug for medicinal reasons.

More than 300 people were in attendance at the launch, many of whom lined up to get their patient registration forms signed.

Apart from ganja products, Epican also sells related paraphernalia such as e-cigarette devices and bongs. Well-trained staff advise on the profiles of the different strains of cannabis on offer — all of which are grown locally.
