Could you work from home?
Sunday, August 08, 2010
If the entrepreneurs behind Exquisite Marketing Solutions (EMS) Limited have their way, many Jamaicans will be enjoying the privileges of working from home before the New Year rolls in.
Robert Gregory Jnr and Dr Damian Ffriend, businessmen and high school friends, have created the Jamaica Advertising Advantage which will allow members the option of earning from a home base. Gregory Jnr is the company creative director and Kingston-based CEO of Designer Fragrances, and Ffriend assumes the role of managing director and is also a life insurance advisor. The latter is also a former manager at the Registrar General's Department (RGD).
Members of the site will be paid for each ad that they view and 100 per cent of the individual earnings of each person they refer.
Those who sign up at www.jamaicaadvertisingadvantage.com will earn a minimum US$0.03 cents for reading ads and emails which amounts to a minimum J$150 for every hour spent viewing ads for one minute each. Additionally they will earn bonus equivalent to 100 per cent of the earnings of all the people they have recommended and who signed up using their referral or user name. So, earnings for an hour could be J$150 multiplied by twenty or J$3,000 if you have referred 20 others who use the site and are earning as well.
Now, if this is something you and your friends are prepared to do all day, the dollars could pile up!
"An income of between US$1,000 and US$10,000 is easily achievable depending on the member's activity," claims Robert Gregory.
The JAA hopes to have between 1 million and 1.5million members by August 2011 with a minimum of 500,000 by December 2010.
The site has an automated system which will allow members to withdraw their funds via Alertpay whenever they choose once their amount due is above the minimum payout figure of US$100.
The site will route persons to the advertiser's website once they click on the ads, while it will send them to a landing page hosted by JAA if the advertiser does not have a website.
Gregory and Ffriend, partnering with UK company Eagle traders, are also prepared to give away thousands in US dollars to get the company going, as they have promised Jamaicans who sign up U$$20 as a sign up bonus which will be immediately added to their account.
The JAA site is expected to provide companies in Jamaica with a new medium through which they can promote their goods or services.
According to Gregory, the JAA will provide these advertisers with a captive market which can be dissected according to demographics such as age, address, income, sex etc.
"The viewers will be persons motivated to read the ads or emails and to do the surveys where required because it will provide for them an excellent source of additional income."
Dr Ffriend adds: "We are encouraging persons to go to the website and register now and earn US$20 immediately as this option will not be available for a very long time and eventually there will be a cost to become a member. They may use JAAadmin as their referrer's username if none was given to them by anyone."
