Retro pay: six months overdue

Dear Claudienne

Dear Claudienne

I am a civil servant. In April 2009, the Government sent out a circular concerning the payment of seven per cent retroactive salary to government workers for the period April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2011.

I was entitled to payment in May 2012 but to date almost six months later, I have not been paid. I have contacted various persons about this matter but I am getting the runaround.

I am seeking your help to get the monies owing to me.

TM

Dear TM

Shortly after Tell Claudienne contacted the relevant agency last Wednesday (October 17), we were advised that your matter was referred to the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) section. We note that you received the cheque the following day, Thursday, October 18.

Good luck.

Dear Claudienne

I live in St Thomas and near my premises is a Jamaica Public Service light post from which electricity is being stolen. I informed the JPS and for over two years I have been asking them to do something about this situation, but so far nothing has been done.

Could you help me.

AE

Tell Claudienne spoke to the JPS and we note that the illegal wires have now been removed from the electricity pole. The parish manager said that a more permanent solution is being formulated.

Good luck.
