EduCom Co-operative Credit Union, established just over two years ago from the merger of AAMM, UWI Mona and Community, and recently St Catherine credit unions, has awarded 100 scholarships for the upcoming academic year to students at the primary and tertiary levels across the island.

The scholarships were presented at the organization's annual awards ceremony which was held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in Kingston.

EduCom's Chief Executive Officer Elvis King took the opportunity to encourage the recipients to look past the limited resources available to them while working hard to achieve their goals. He also pointed out that as part of EduCom's annual budget preparations the team ensures that a substantial amount is placed aside to provide educational support for their members.

Of the 100 scholarships granted for the new academic year, 83 of the recipients were GSAT awardees and 17 are pursuing tertiary programmes.
