New Fortress Energy pays tuition for close to 50 students

Twenty-two full-time undergraduate students of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) and Caribbean Maritime University who are predominantly STEM majors have had 50 per cent of their tuition for this school year covered by natural gas infrastructure company New Fortress Energy.

The company has also awarded bursaries to 27 students from high schools across the country to cover their school and Caribbean Examinations Council exam fees.

The awards at the tertiary level ranged from $340,000 to $680,000 each, while those at the high school level were $50,000 each, for a combined total of $10.5 million “We are committed to enhancing the quality of life and social fabric in Jamaica by investing in education.
