Gunmen rule, but the police are fighting back

ABOUT seven years ago when I wrote a story about a former gunman, rapist, robber and general pillager of other people's properties (The rise of Shine), the man who was a member of the notorious Natty Morgan Gang said something to me that has remained stuck somewhere in my cranium.

"Yu si if a yout wid a gun wah go pon a rampage pon a road an him hear sey jus one house pon di road have a gun owner, him nah go pon dah road deh. Him a go somewhere else." Then he paused, looked away and then back at me, and said: "Nuff time a jus di police a save citizens."
