Dear Editor,

Allow me the opportunity not only to express sincere condolence to the family and friends of Michael Gordon, as an extraordinary and professional member of the media landscape who passed on recently, but also to salute him for the tremendous coverage he afforded the agricultural sector, particularly during the period I served as president of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, the Kingston & St Andrew chapter of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, and chairman of Denbigh Agricultural Show Committee during the period 2003-2018.

The competent and extraordinary approach, as a professional photographer, was world-class. From the coverage of the various champion farmers to the parish pavilions, with excellent and immaculate displays which were photographed — all just exceptional and award-winning themselves.

His passing was a shock to me, personally, and I would like to use this opportunity to salute his work and contribution to the agricultural sector, and in particular the Denbigh Agricultural Show.

May his soul rest in peace.

Norman Washington Grant

Immediate past president, Jamaica Agricultural Society

Former chairman, Denbigh Agricultural Show Committee
