Dear Editor,

The following is a open letter to Prime Minister Andrew Holness:

Thank you very much for the great promises you made to us while in Opposition about the need to give civil servants their just rewards.

Thank you for the grave level of understanding shown, especially too that your mom was a civil servant and created a genius like you from her meagre salary.

Thank you, Mr Prime Minister, for reaching out to us when you needed us mostly. Yes, the 24,000-plus of us, when we were convinced that we needed a change — a new breed of politics and new blood.

Thank you for giving us the loud-mouthed finance minister, “Man a Yaad”, who is vexed at our simple request.

Thank you for the out-of-touch Rudyard Spencer.

Thank you, Prime Minister, for your deafening silence throughout the ordeal.

Thank you, Mr Prime Minister, “election a come again, and yuh a go red, yuh a go crass riva bayfoot and hug di likkle nasty nose pickney dem and beg and plea fi wi vote”.

You know, Mr Prime Minister, it will always be said that the Jamaica Teachers' Association is a People's National Party-supporting organisation, but the books will show that the PNP is always willing to sit, listen and reason with great understanding without being arrogant, critical or judgemental or threatening. Your Cabinet is tainted with arrogance, selfishness, and vengeful dinosaurs.

Thank you, Sir; once bitten, twice shy.

PS: I could not call because I was scared my phone bill would go in the millions as I have much to say and, secondly, my jalopy would not be allowed to enter Jamaica House.
