Dear Editor,

Having read where the Supreme Court has paved the way for the Government to revoke the telecommunications licence granted to Symbiote, which trades as Caricel, this with no chance of further appeal, a number of questions come to mind.

As I understand it, the principal owner of this company is a Jamaican. Is it because he has dared to enter the domain of the two powerhouses in the field why the company has been subjected to such scrutiny?

Being that the services offered by his company in most instances undercut the big two, is that another reason for the microscope?

What will happen to the scores of Jamaicans employed by this company?

Further, thousands of people purchased the moblie Wi-Fi service (boxes) offered by this company, what happens now?

The Government speaks of prosperity. If the small man cannot invest in his country while providing jobs for his countrymen and a cheaper product to consumers, this certainly is not enhancing prosperity.
