Ballot boxes still trickling in

BALLOT boxes are still trickling into the counting centre at the Waltham Educational Centre in West Central St Andrew from the various polling divisions more than two hours after the close of the polls.

The boxes are arriving under the watchful eyes of the score of police and soldiers now on duty at the facility located along Rosalee Avenue off Waltham Park Road.

A jubilant group of orange and green-clad supporters are now standing at opposite ends of the street outside the centre seemingly awaiting the results.

However there was a brief exchange of harsh words between a few supporters from both sides after one People's National Party supporter accidentally spilled water on a Jamaica Labour Party supporter.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Andrew Holness who is seeking to retain the West Central St Andrew seat is still in the constituency, up to a short while ago.
