‘Ernesto’ fails to dampen ATI spirits

Saturday, August 11, 2012

APPLETON Temptation Isle’s (ATI) seven parties over the Independence weekend brought out a bumper crowd despite the threat of Tropical Storm Ernesto.

“The safety of our patrons was our first priority,” said Alex Chin, CEO of Absolute Entertainment. “However, when we got information that the storm had weakened and wouldn't cause any harm, we were ready to roll.”

Plans were then in high gear for Sunday’s The Official and Original Water Party, and Stages ‘The Legend’.

Patrons had also received a special ‘big up’ from Jamaica's superstar sprinter Usain Bolt from London.

“Big up everybody in ATI right now. I know you're watching!” he said, during his interview after winning the 100-metre final.

Ernesto’s light rain was ‘no contest’ to the high energy at The Official and Original Water Party.

Later that night was the Officially Jamaica 50 celebration for the ATI weekend, Stages “The Legend”.

International rap artiste Fabolous took the stage and turned up the crowd’s excitment. The vibe continued by Black Chiney, Flabba Dabba and others.

On the final day, there was a massive turnout for Independence Day’s Officially Diagnosed at Chances. The bikini masquerade kicked off at noon and held strong with Chromatic and Crazy Neil dropping hit after hit.

To cap off the ATI weekend, there was Full Moon Party. Risky Business was lit ablaze with the name of the event in fire as the backdrop for the evening. The party's signature wolf mascot was ever present, dancing with the ladies and playing with fire.

All in all, ATI 2012 was a weekend full of vibes.
