INTERMITTENT showers associated with Tropical Storm Ernesto could not dampen the vibe at Soirée, the final party in the SPF party series held at the scenic cove on Drax Hall Estate in St Ann on Sunday.
From early afternoon, it was clear that this would be the event of the three-day series, as in addition to the great party elements, an added attraction was the highly anticipated 100-metre semis and finals for men from the Olympic games in London.
Patrons huddled around strategically placed television set around the venue to catch the races and the anticipation was palpable.
The excitement reached fever pitch when Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake crossed the line in first and second place respectively. The cheering was deafening, champagne flowed and as one patron put it, "a now the party start".
And that it did. With the euphoria of the happenings in London just took over.
For the next three hours, DJ Kurt Riley had the cove rocking with his musical mix.
And when the rains came, some patrons just used the opportunity to enjoy themselves even more.
And when the dance 'shore' got too hot, some
party fans used the opportunity to take a dip in the inviting waters.
Among those spotted enjoying Soirée were actor Dulé Hill, star of Psych and The West Wing and male supermodel Tyson Beckford, who partied with his girlfriend, Victoria Secret model Shanina Shaik.
