FANS came out in numbers for Konshens's Birthday Celebration held at The Quad in New Kingston, St Andrew, on Saturday.

The guest-of-honour — who was celebrating his 29th birthday — said he was pleased by the turn out friends and fans, which comprised mainly females. Only standing room was available when things got into full swing.

The Gal A Bubble artiste also used the opportunity to reflect on his career.

"Given the effort put in so far, I'm happy where my career is at right now," Konshens told the Jamaica Observer in between being shuttled around to meet well-wishers.

For 2014, he said he would be attempting to leverage 'brand Konshens' in the light of his recently introduced Konz876 line of sneakers.

"I'm looking at areas that are well within my moral compass. As for Konz876, we have new stock and designs for this year," he said.

Signed to VP Records, Konshens (given name Garfield Spence) has three albums to credits. They are Mental Maintenance, Modern Revolution and Real Talk. He is known in dancehall circles for hit songs including Winner, Do Sum'n and The Realest Song.

Do you think an increase in JUTC bus fares is justified at this time?
