The thanksgiving service to celebrate the life of Noel ‘Clive’ Downer, father of recording artiste Michelle ‘D’Angel’ Downer, will be held on Wednesday, August 31, at the Cathedral of St Jago de la Vega in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The occasion is slated for a 12 noon start.

Interment follows in the Dovecot Memorial Park.

Downer, an entrepreneur, died in hospital on August 9 from injuries sustained after being hit by a motor vehicle on the Old Harbour main road in St Catherine. He was 70.

"My father always wanted to be a singer, but he shied away from the spotlight, so he was immensely proud that I took the baton from him, in a sense, and he was able to realise that dream through me," she said.

In a joint statement from his daughters; Nadine, Joan, Peta-Gaye and D’Angel, he was hailed as a loving and supportive father.

D’Angel also expressed her heartfelt thanks to the music fraternity and colleagues for their outpouring of support during her time of grief.
