Bacchanal Fridays delivers

Simone Morgan

Monday, March 11, 2013

IT was all about pulsating soca and dancehall music at last week's Bacchanal Fantastic Fridays at Stadium North in St Andrew.

There were guest appearances from dancehall artistes Aidonia and Beenie Man, but for most of the event, DJ Duchess Alicia out of Trinidad and DJ Kurt Riley kept the New Mas Camp rocking to hit songs from Machel Montano, Destra Garcia, Shurwayne Winchester and Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons.

The evening's first live performance came from the all-female Dance Expressionz who showed off their sexy acrobatic moves. They made way for Aidonia who won fans over with songs like Six Thirty, Tan Tuddy and Juk So.

He set the pace for Beenie Man, who is no stranger

to soca shows. The King of the Dancehall pumped out hit after hit such as Memories, Ole Dog, Who Am I and Welcome the King of The Dancehall which all went over well.

The Bachannal season continues March 30 with Beach J'ouvert.
