Beenie Man gears up for Sumfest
Wednesday, July 18, 2012
DANCEHALL artiste Beenie Man is gearing up for a powerful performance at this year’s Reggae Sumfest, taking place from July 15 to 21 at Catherine Hall in St James.
Beenie Man, who recently released the single Dweet Again, is slated to close this year’s edition of Dancehall Night of Reggae Sumfest 2012 on Thursday.
“I plan to give a powerful performance at this year’s Sumfest. I did it already and I am coming to do it again. It will be a very special performance so all my fans can be certain [that] I will perform to the best of my ability to please [them],” Beenie Man told the Jamaica Observer.
Since being reissued his American work permit, the artiste has performed on a series of shows over the past three weeks which saw him crisscrossing two continents, with shows in USA, Canada and Europe.
“The bookings are coming in right now, the demand for the deejay is high in the US and Europe. The promoters in the US are happy they can start planning festivals again because they have a headliner who can pull thousands to the parks”, Rohan ‘Blue’ Smith, his manager.
According to his manager, Red Stripe is using his single, Summer is Here for their promotions.
“Right now, him ah dweet again,” his manager said.
