Cobra discharged from hospital
Friday, May 14, 2010
DANCEHALL deejay Mad Cobra, who was last Tuesday evening shot and injured in Portmore, St Catherine has been discharged from hospital.
Cobra, whose real name is Ewart Everton Brown, had been admitted to the Spanish Town hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was subsequently removed to the Tony Thwaites Wing of the University Hospital of the West Indies where he spent two days.
"He is resting comfortably at home," a source close to the deejay told Splash.
Police say that they are following leads that Cobra had been involved in an altercation with a group of men in Braeton who claimed that, while driving, he had shone his bright lights on them. Cobra's attempts at appeasing the situation reportedly failed. One of the men later shot Cobra.
Cobra was the second artiste to be shot in two days. Voicemail member, Oneil Edwards, was shot several times early Monday morning and remains in a stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at the Kingston Public Hospital.

God Bless Cobra. Those are my first wishes. Could someone please answer? Has the Gun Man/Bowy been arrested? Doesn't this sound like a direct hired 'Hitman' set up on the great DJ? Who filed the report about "Bright Lights"? I just smell a Rat and i think a Gun man, unless hired, would not have shot after such a High ranking DJ or Joe public for no reason. The Gun man sounds like he was High on Crack and need's to be brought to justice Fast? Jamaica's most wanted!
