ROOTS singer Richie Spice recently presented a deep freeze refrigerator to the Galalee Early Childhood Development Center at Rodney Road (off Maxfield Avenue).

The donation was spearheaded by Spice's Organic Vision organisation which has been active since 2003.

"We identified with Galalee Early Childhood Development Center in 2006 after the school was burnt to the ground," said Sophia Campbell, a spokesperson for Organic Vision.

The school's students are from two to six years old. It has been functional since 1960.

Richie Spice, whose hit songs include Earth a Run Red and Brown Skin, has contributed to other schools including Rock Hall All-Age in his hometown of Rock Hall, St Andrew.
