Digicel donates Olympic tickets to Shaggy’s charity auction

Friday, January 06, 2012

TELECOMS provider Digicel has announced that in addition to its sponsorship of the of Shaggy and Friends Concert, it will be donating a pair of tickets to the 2012 London Olympics for the charity auction.

The tickets, valued at over US$7,000, will take the lucky bidder and a guest to six major track and field events, including the men's 100m final.

"Digicel has been partnering with the Shaggy and Friends concert since its inception and we remain humbled by the efforts of Shaggy and the team, who have been working assiduously to ensure that patrons can enjoy a stellar line-up at each staging," said Shelly-Ann Curran, Digicel Jamaica's senior sponsorship and activations manager.

"What is most profound, however, is the fact that including the charity auction, all the proceeds will go to the Bustamante Hospital for Children. We commend Shaggy for his vision for this initiative and we are happy to be back on board for this year's concert helping him to make a difference to the children of Jamaica."

Digicel has also provided a text facility where customers can make additional contributions to the cause. To donate, customers can simply text 488-4175 at a cost of JA$20, anytime from now until January 31, 2012.
