THE fourth Dis Poem Wordz and Agro-festival takes place Sunday at Hope Bay Beach in Portland. The day-long family event is a combination of spoken word entertainment and agricultural awareness.

The aim of the latter is to create a natural market space for agriculture as well as facilitate Jamaica's first Seed fi Seeds programme.

Established and emerging poets including Dis Poem founder/promoter Ras Takura, Mutabaruka (whose 1983 poem inspired the festival), NoMaddz, DYCR, STEPPA, Michael Abrahams, K'shema Francis, Neto Meeks, Mighty Ginsu, Ras Malikot and Influential will perform.

The Uprising Roots Band, Prof I and the Nyahbinghi Warriors and Earl 'Chinna' Smith and the Inna De Yard Crew will be the live acts.

Proceeds from the festival go to the RAS Takura Scholarship which supports second-year students in the faculty of agriculture at the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE) in Portland.
