Sunday, February 03, 2013
FOR the third year, Emancipation Park in St Andrew comes alive when telecoms company Digicel, hosts a free concert to celebrate the life and works of reggae icon Bob Marley.
The concert — scheduled for a 6 pm start on Thursday, February 7 — will boast some of the music industry's top acts.
The concert forms part of Digicel's partnership with the Bob Marley Foundation to deliver a month-long series of activities planned to celebrate the King of Reggae.
"We are definitely appreciative of the support we have been getting from Digicel. This year we choose the theme Survival and we think this is such a fitting theme based on the crisis that the world is facing. We want to encourage our people to drive to be survivors," Stephanie Marley, director of the Bob Marley Foundation.
The line-up includes Digicel brand ambassadors I-Octane, Jermaine Edwards, Tifa. Other acts include Capelton, Luciano, Chinna Smith, Inna Di Yard, Chronixx, Ikaya and the Haile Selassie Choir, Nadine Sutherland, Leroy Sibbles and Hempress Sativa.
