Funeral service for Sugar Minott Sunday at the Arena

THE funeral service for the late Lincoln Barrington ‘Sugar’ Minott, will be held on Sunday, August 1, at the National Arena in Kingston, starting at 10:00 am.
A release from the Jamaica Association of Vintage Artiste and Affiliates, requested mourners to wear all white or red, green and gold, the colours of Rastafari.
Sugar Minott was born May 25, 1956 and died on Saturday, July 10 at the University Hospital of the West Indies. His body will be interred at the Harker’s Hall Cemetery in St Catherine.
According to the release, Sugar “is survived by his mother, 14 children, three sisters, four brothers, 19 grandchildren and six baby mothers”.
Known as the Godfather of Dancehall, Sugar Minott was one of the genre’s most popular and prolific singers in the 80’s and through the decade of the nineties.
