THE Institute of Jamaica in downtown Kingston will host the screening of the film, Girl Rising (2013), on Thursday at 12:30 pm.

Girl Rising is a global movement for girls' education, based primarily around the film. The film presents the remarkable stories of nine girls from nine countries — Sierra Leone, Haiti, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Peru, Egypt, Nepal, India, and Cambodia.

A contribution of $200 is required to view the film and full proceeds will go directly towards the Programmes Coordination Division's "Self Esteem and Image Enhancement Workshops for Girls."
