The night sky over the Kingston Waterfront lit up with fireworks on Monday night as the annual concert to welcome the new year unfolded.
In addition to the fireworks display, the massive audience was also treated to performances by a number of leading Jamaican artistes.
The event also marked the culmination of the celebrations of Jamaica's 50th anniversary of independence.
