In the spirit of the season
FOR many of Jamaica's indigent, the sidewalks and alleys of downtown Kingston have been long-time sanctuaries.
On Christmas Eve, many of them got into the Yuletide spirit courtesy of a treat put on jointly by Chiney K Productions, Stone Love Movement and New Supreme Finance.
Paul Lowe-Chin of Chiney K Productions estimates that over 300 persons in the vicinity of Parade and the Supreme Court on King Street in the Corporate Area received hot meals.
It is the second straight year the companies staged the treat.
"It was a joy to see how the people line up and enjoyed the food. Everybody was well-behaved," said Lowe-Chin.
The treat was held three days after the companies participated in a refurbishing of a senior citizens' home in the Chambers Lane area of St Andrew.
Both projects are precursors to the Stone Love Anniversary dance tonight at Red Stripe Oval along Spanish Town Road.
